Stay Close By For Great Things To Do!

In town just for a day or maybe several? You don’t have to travel far to find amazing things to do for single travelers and families, alike!
de Young Museum's stunning facade!
Locating minutes away, San Francisco’s oldest museum, de Young Museum, (founded 1895) reopened in late 2005 in its new state-of-the-art Golden Gate Park facility.

After closing for several years, San Francisco's oldest museum (founded in 1895) reopened in late 2005 in its new state-of-the-art Golden Gate Park facility. Its vast holdings include one of the finest collections of American paintings in the United States from Colonial times through the 20th century.
Surrounding sculpture gardens and lush, grassy expanses is a perfect place for picnicking. Adding to the allure is surprisingly good and healthy organic fare at the grab-and-go or order-and-wait cafe/restaurant. Visit Tues-Sun 9:30am-5:15pm
Local Veggies from the Farmers Market
Before perusing around de Young, stop by the Ferry Building Market place for their Farmer’s Market that takes place year round, Tuesday’s (10am-2pm) and Saturday’s (8am-2pm). This is where San Francisco foodies and many of the best local chefs -- including the famed Alice Waters of Chez Panisse -- gather, hang out, and peruse stalls hawking the finest Northern California fruits, vegetables, breads, dairy, flowers, readymade snacks, and complete meals by local restaurants. You'll be amazed at the variety and quality, and the crowded scene itself is something to behold.

If you want to continue you’re day outdoors with your furry friend you brought along-check out the City of Burlingame’s Dog Exercise Park! Your dog can enjoy the company and play of other dog’s and is a great opportunity to run around and socialize. Bring a ball to throw or a few snacks you picked up from the Farmer’s Market, just watch out for beggars! Burlingame’s Dog Park is open everyday from 6 am until 9 pm.
